The purpose of the "Portfolio Photo Shoot" two-day workshop is to build portfolios of working artists and give "on the set" experience and confidence. Empire creates a professional atmosphere by supplying several top photographers, agency models, hairstylists, and wardrobe stylists for students to collaborate. This gives the artists the opportunity to create images that showcase their versatility, talent and strengths. The focus is on editorial style, beauty and fashion looks.
Empire graduates are allowed to take this workshop after working with multiple photographers and models for a minimum of 4-6 months after completing the Print, Runway and Bridal Course. If you are interested in taking this workshop to start, build or update your book, you must meet with Donna Mee for consideration and submit photos of your work for approval. Decisions for acceptance will be based on the caliber of your artistry work/portfolio and your speed.
"I have had many teachers in my life; Donna Mee is the best out of all of them. She is so talented and inspiring, and so dedicated to her work and her students. Empire has completely changed my life in a way that you can never imagine by inspiring me to become the best that I can be, not just in this field, but as a person too."
Jessica’s first booking was doing makeup for a fashion show held at West Covina High School not too long after starting her courses at Empire. Jessica partnered with another Empire graduate, Amber Bloom to work on a student film called “Quest”. Jessica is working about to start work on an independent horror film called "Homeless Joe".
